Finding and sounding a charge from uBeam

Reading the web on this topic, one finds that more than several engineers and tech scientists are scoffers about the idea, yet the inventor and founder of uBeam has raised millions for the enterprise. The technology behind uBeam allows a user to wirelessly charge devices, such as cellphones and laptops, using ultrasound.

Imagine mobile/computer device charging stations so thin they look like a sheet of cardboard? Transmitters tacked to walls like wallpaper or made into decorative art to beam electricity to devices? Smartphones and laptops equipped with thin receivers able to convert audio and charge any device?

If so, watch for the coming of uBeam. The technology could also bring significant changes everything: Gadgets that work with uBeam could have thinner batteries and constantly receive power. Battery technology has barely changed over the last few decades, with device makers relying on incremental improvements to battery power, in combination with more energy-efficient electronics.
